About us
Wetzels | Brown is an Amsterdam based Anglo-Dutch design studio since 2003 with a small highly skilled international team of designers working on projects throughout Europe and also in the USA. A partnership established more than 20 years ago between interior designer Gillian Brown and architect Rob Wetzels. 30 years of experience and a background in the world of luxury retail and leisure is the base for designing unique and refreshing interiors. We dedicate ourselves to developing solutions which really work for our client’s lifestyle, self-expression and feeling of comfort.
With our dedicated team of professionals, we offer turn-key solutions working with some of the finest suppliers in the world to create personalized solutions which really add to the finishing touch tailored to each interior. We look after the whole process, so when you come on board or move into your new house, you are “ready to go”.
We understand the high demands in yachting, as well as creating detail and using craftsmanship that generate a deep sense of luxury. We like to add sparkle to each project which gives a sense of enjoyment, again and again. This gives our projects an added value which endures.

In every project, we strive to design elements that bring joy — not trivialities, but thoughtful features that enhance the overall experience. A standout feature of this design is the installation of an Yves Klein blue guest toilet pod in an otherwise unremarkable corridor. This striking addition has become a delightful focal point, with many guests making a beeline for it upon arrival, turning it into a cherished conversation starter.
Every project is unique and deserves a fresh eye. The best design comes from a dynamic experience of the way people interact with their environment. A common thread running through the projects in our work is the dedication to develop solutions, which really work for a client’s lifestyle, self-expression and sense of comfort.

For example our project at Faena House in Miami, the client sought a vision of “hardcore Art Deco.” This wasn’t merely an obsession with the style, but rather an appreciation for the finest elements of the past, blended with a forward-looking perspective — an invitation to indulge in Miami’s vibrant culture alongside the Faena Hotel and cultural centre next door.
Our fresh approach to each project, clean modern lines, practical flexibility, honesty and open communication has been welcomed in the yachting industry. The success of a project is made possible by the enthusiasm of the client. The bouncing back and forth of ideas is essential to the process, the development of the design and the final result. We are proud to share that we have been a key part of award winning teams for almost all the new build yacht interiors we have designed.

The Wally 50m Better Place holds the RINA Green Star certification and received RINA’s “Most Environmentally Conscious Sailing Yacht” award at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2012.

Mediterranean Penthouse
Natural and Artificial Light
This project prominently features light as a constant element high above the city, thanks to its 360-degree windows that showcase the shifting illumination throughout the day. The apartment design was inspired by our client’s vision of a bespoke coastal entertaining space – relaxed and comfortable with just the right amount of city chic. We took inspiration from the location – hot sun, warm sea and endless sand dunes.

We have recently completed a yacht for a client whose vision was to evoke feelings of summer joy and foster family bonding during the warm summer days. This family boldly embraced vibrant colours that mirrored their optimistic perspective on life. Our task was to harmonize these vivid dreams without compromising their vibrancy.
