Set in the clear bright air of the Austrian Alps with a background of the mountains and 180 degrees views of the “Hohensalzburg Fortress” the villa is a light, open and comfortable home that provides a personal heaven amongst a vibrant art collection.
The brief was to move away from dark wood furniture and heavy upholstery to create a fresh and recharging environment. A clear objective of the design is to provide a base for the future that enables the client to add furniture pieces and truly personalize the dynamic living environment over the next years.
Attention to detail is key to this home – the project team realized refinement in the plaster, stone and paintwork. This gives the project its calm and a quality to a standard of finish which is rarely found.
The richness of the design is provided by the play of textures and tones in metal, silk, velvet, stone, linens and leather. The individual rooms have a calm colour palette – a combination of white and grey with accents given by wonderful textures in the finishes and the colour of the art. Specially designed elements by Wetzels Brown Partners are combined with furniture by Hervé van der Straeten, Christian Liaigre, Cassina, Minotti and B&B Italia.
Even in depths of winter the house radiates light and warm – the connection to nature is ever present.
